What’s Your Favorite?
The Effect: While out with some friends at a nice restaurant, you decide to demonstrate mentalism for everyone. As typical, she introduces herself to everyone and asks for drinks fist. Before she comes back to take your order, you reach over and grab a napkin, which you write something on. Then, when she returns you ask her what her favorite drinks is, what the last book she read is, and her age. She tells you out loud and you turn the napkin over to reveal you go them all right.
The Secret: Waitresses are generally pretty helpful, especially if they think there’s a tip in it for them. In this case, she’s an instant stooge.
The Setup: When you get to the restaurant, try to get yourself a table that can’t see the bathroom or where the waitress station is. Excuse yourself to go wash your hands. Do it right after the waitress takes the drink order so you can identify her. Head towards the bathroom and approach the waitress and ask her to help you out. I always tip her there, and you should too. Ask her a few questions, as I’ve suggested or whatever you like, and the rest is history. Make sure you tell her not to mention you talked to her.
