Fourteenth Step’s mission is to provide opportunities for you to learn the art of mentalism. We accomplish this by curating and publishing a variety of innovative, exciting and real world based mentalism lessons, gimmicks, gaffs, and other tools required to put the knowledge, skills, and recommendations we share into practice, either as an amateur or professional performer.

Fourteenth Step was founded exclusively for educational, scientific, and charitable purposes as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and is fully recognized by the IRS as having Public Charity Status under section 509(a)(2).

Fourteenth Step is a United States based non profit company that works with artists, entertainers, and educators in the magical arts from around the world to deliver comprehensive educational and training programs, as well as, to provide curated products to the world. The organization is controlled by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.

Fourteenth Step came about during MINDvention in Las Vegas some years ago. A small, but very active group, of like-minded (no pun intended) friends with a combined 100+ years experience in mentalism, felt best way to protect the art was by ensuring others have access to it.

Fourteenth Step’s primary focus is on sharing the art of mentalism with those who may not otherwise have access to the art and the closely guarded, but simple secrets, that allow us to create wonder—especially those who are underprivileged or otherwise have no access to professionally produced and affordable resource material; and in educating future generations of the art to serve as rational, honest, and progressive advocates of the art who take on leadership roles that will positively impact the future of the art and the industry that it supports.

Unlike many mentalism publishers, magic shops, and individual producers of magic and mentalism, we exist purely for public benefit—not to create a profit for owners or stakeholders. Because our mission is charitable in nature, we utilize income brought in through courses, product sales, fundraisers, and donations to help others learn to the art of mentalism. We understand that there is a considerable economic disparity between the West where many of the world’s most prolific artists live and can afford to invest in mentalism, and other countries where artists often have to choose between taking care of their personal responsibilities and investing in themselves and their art. We exist to bridge that gap, and are working diligently to open the art up to others who, in time, we believe will become contributors to mentalism worldwide.
